5 Must-Have Small Kitchen Appliances

Growing up with a parent that cooks for a living, I am very comfortable in the kitchen. I’ve used every kitchen tool that you can think of. As a homemaker, however, I’m a fan of efficient cooking and I also  don’t have the space or the disposable money to splurge on things that don’t serve my household.

This is where this list comes in handy. It took some trial and error to narrow my must-have kitchen tools down to only 5. But trust me, these tools are very efficient, useful and budget-friendly.

This one should be in everyone’s kitchen. From making smoothies, to pureeing vegetables for soup and even making sauces, a blender is essential. There are so many expensive and inexpensive selections on the market, but choosing one all depends on what you will be using it for. My favorite blender is the NINJA. It does everything its advertised to do and more. But if you’re just looking for something basic, I recommend any blender from Hamilton Beach.

My sister first introduced me to this gem. She initially bought it for its pressure cooking abilities, but later discovered how multifaceted it is. This thing makes YOGURT. YOGURT guys! It also cooks rice, beans, soups, stews, steaming and can also be used for sautéing. This one might not be  inexpensive, but it is totally worth the price. Tip: If you cannot afford the Instant Pot, look for a rice cooker that has other cooking capabilities. ( Amazon is a good place to start).

Toaster Oven

When it comes to reheating food, the microwave is not an option for many reasons. So how can you reheat your food without burning it on the stove top? A toaster Oven. A few years ago, I thought this was the best invention ever (Until I stumbled upon #5).This thing can reheat food, bake sweet treats and cook food. You can toast bread and bagels too! We’ve roasted a cornish hen in ours before and it was amazing! Pro tip: Shop around for one that is energy efficient. Thank me later.

Indoor Grill

Why wait for summer to have some grilled food? Indoor grills cook up amazing meals and makes the best grilled sandwiches! You don’t have to deal with coal, gas and outdoor heat to have grill some steak or mushrooms. The best thing about indoor grills is the control of temperature. This is a game-changer for me because I’ve had a few outdoor grill fails.

Air Fryer

I left the best for last! I got my first air fryer (here is the one I got) about 5 months ago and I’ve used it every single day! I’m now the Air Fryer Queen in my family. It can fry, bake, roast and REHEAT! My kitchen isn’t hot anymore and I skip the oil. To be honest, the best part of owning an air fryer is enjoying crispy “fried” foods without the guilt.

There are many other small kitchen appliances that are convenient and great, but these are my top 5 that I cannot live without. If you have any small kitchen appliances that you adore, share them below.
